The E-BEAT project (Research to create an Advanced 4P –People-Process-Product-Plant– Digital Monitoring System for the early validation of components, functionalities and software of the electric vehicle in the value chain of the production process) aims to advance in the knowledge that allows demonstrating the feasibility of obtaining a unique tool based on an Advanced 4P Monitoring System (SAM4P).

This system will open the door to the early validation of components, software and functionalities of the electric vehicle that are not yet designed at the final level within a vehicle structure. The project consists of a first phase of research on alternative methods of software validation and digital integration and a second phase of research on two-way digital communication between supplier and OEM during the design phase, where data from products, production, plant and people linked to the design and to quality, safety and traceability throughout the vehicle value chain would be shared.

In other words, this R&D project will test a concept, mainly in a digital and laboratory environment (technological level TRL3) that will contribute to the development of relevant technologies for application in the automotive sector in order to help a rapid economic, industrial and social recovery based on the strengthening of the innovative capabilities of the Spanish and European sector.

All this is done with the objective of focusing on the current challenges of sustainable mobility, zero emissions and the connected and autonomous vehicle.

Funded by CDTI. This project is being supported by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

Our role

Atos is working on the implementation of two integrated digital platforms. The first one is a decision support system that will monitor different aspects in the manufacturing processes, will include dashboards for decision makers and will raise alerts in case an abnormal situation is detected. The other platform will add AI capabilities, managing the end-to-end life cycle of Machine Learning models that will be used in the use-cases identified by Ford and Valeo.
