BD4OPEM will develop an analytic toolbox based on Big Data techniques, providing tools for enabling efficient business processes in the energy sector. By extracting more value from available data, a range of innovative services will be created in the fields of grid monitoring, operation and maintenance, network planning, fraud detection, smart energy management for houses/buildings/industries, blockchain transactions, and flexibility aggregation for demand-response in smart grids.

BD4OPEM will create a seamless link between energy stakeholders and solutions developed. The Marketplace will ensure secure data flow between data providers and solution providers, resulting in new data-driven business models, enhanced asset management, and consumer participation in energy balancing.

The process will be demonstrated at five pilot sites (Spain, Turkey, Slovenia, Belgium, and Denmark), which provide the initial input data and validation of the usefulness and the usability of the services being developed.

Our role

Atos participates in BD4OPEM involving both the Energy and the Blockchain, Identity, and Privacy units. The energy unit is leading the project architecture definition, as well as the data harmonization for the Analytics Toolbox (BD4OPEM main exploitable result). The blockchain, identity, and privacy unit lead Self-Sovereign Identity solution for all stakeholder secure access to the marketplace and smart contract implementation for a P2P Trading Service.
