5G Catalonia project has been selected as one of the grantees of Red.es second call for pilot development aids. Red.es is a national 5G program that depends on the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation. This initiative is cofunded by the European Fund for Economic and Regional Development (FEDER).
The project started on Q3 of 2020 and it is due to finish on Q1 of 2023. Its budget is of 5.4 millions of euros, 40% of which are funded by Red.es. Barcelona Town Hall will collaborate in its implementation via Mobile World Capital Barcelona through 5G Barcelona, Fira Barcelona, i2cat, Seat and IESE business School.
Atos is responsible for the proof of concept of one of the use cases scenarios. Particularly, the one regarding industry 4.0. To proceed with that responsability, Atos will be on charge of coordinating its implementation with the partnerships of Nissan and Cellnex.
For optimal results, Atos will take the leadership as both a technical and a financial and administrative manager during 24 months, reporting each achievement and measuring its efficiency.
Atos is also in charge of the communication of Industry 4.0. case of use by the presentation of the results on social media, website, public relations and other formats.
