The revolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computer Vision (CV) is here, bringing enterprises the opportunity to drive improvements in their businesses for several applications ranging from manufacturing and maintenance to marketing and administrative processes.

Smart Vision offers a robust toolbox of detection algorithms and models named Basic Units of Artificial Intelligence (UBIAs for its acronym in Spanish), which provide advanced capabilities for processing and getting insights from any sensor or video stream that can be used in several situations and scenarios.

Thanks to its interoperable and modular approach, Smart Vision goes a step further by allowing the connection of UBIAs to solve the most complex use cases for different sectors, allowing the establishment of AI-as-a-Service.

Who can benefit from Smart Vision? Any company or business looking to optimise their operations, reduce costs, improve customer experience, and in general, make the most out of their data with the power of AI and CV. The versatility of Smart Vision makes it a unique tool capable to solve the most imperative needs of customers coming from sectors such as Utilities, Retail, Manufacturing, Public Administration, among many others.

Business Challenge

All enterprises and organizations from different sectors are experiencing a vast explosion in data generated and gathered, but the key challenge is how to transform those volumes of data into assets and valuable insights allowing the enhancement and optimisation of operations. The development of competencies, technologies, and resources is fundamental to embrace the data-driven revolution and Computer Vision is not the exception. The market is expected to grow from USD 10.9Bn in 2019 to USD 17.4Bn by 2024 at a CAGR of 7.8%.[1] In addition, Edge Computing helps to overcome challenges related to network latency and bandwidth enabling more powerful computing at the Edge for AI-enabled edge services. This market was valued at USD 3.5Bn in 2019 and it is expected to grow at a 37% until 2027.[2]

There is an urgent need for non-closed, versatile, dynamic, and flexible solutions based on AI, which allow on-demand consumption and deployment of multiple models and lgorithms on existing hardware, low-cost edge devices and legacy systems without disrupting business activities.

Smart Vision provides modular, interoperable and compossible UBIAs with various CV and AI models and algorithms to identify and extract valuable insights on use cases that go from the most basic detection (i.e. people) to the most complex situations (i.e. tracking people with suspicious behaviour through multiple surveillance cameras located in a stadium).

The UBIAs can either work independently for the detection of a specific need or can be connected with other independent ones for advanced capabilities addressing more complex needs. The deployment of necessary components to address each use case is done through docker container capsules containing the UBIAs, a series of components, and general communication and configuration services. In general, each use case can require the execution of one or more capsules depending on the detection challenges and the hardware support where they are deployed.

Our approach can provide companies from all sectors several benefits thanks to the fast and easy deployment of diverse CV and AI models, addressing specific needs and use cases, on any number and type of devices during the time needed. The flexibility provided by Smart Vision makes it possible to detect and gain insights from a specific scenario today and a completely different one tomorrow. Depending on the use case and application, each customer can experience some specific benefits, and some of the most relevant ones are:

  • Easy, transparent and flexible deployment
  • Improve efficiency of operators/employees
  • Gain knowledge about assets and customers
  • Optimisation of operations and cost reduction
  • Detection of risk situations
  • Reduction of the number of false positives
  • Automatic detection of non-desired patterns
  • Real-time processing of data and alarm generation
  • Transformation of passive surveillance systems into smart actives ones
