Digital Security

Our mission focuses on the provision of key technological enablers for digital identity, privacy and trust -with focus on decentralised and user-centric identity management for persons and smart things and privacy enhancing technologies- to enable secure personal data exchange and control realised across domains and borders and implemented over heterogeneous value chains of digital services and data spaces. Our solutions are designed to facilitate by default compliance with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, revised eIDAS regulation (European Digital Identity Framework/Wallets), European Data Strategy, European Blockchain Service Infrastructure, NIS 2 Directive, Cybersecurity Act, Single Digital Gateway Regulation, among others. Placing people and their digital rights at the centre of research and technology infused with ethical values, we focus on developing technology assets and trustworthy solutions aligned and integrating within Eviden’s Cybersecurity Products and Services roadmaps and world-class offerings for our customers, fostering competitive advantages in an increasingly complex and distributed environment, leveraging multiple state-of-art technologies and promoting the sustainability of the digital transformation.

Vision

Identity

In a context of accelerated digital transformation, citizens and private and public organisations are in an unprecedented position to reap its opportunities and benefits while simultaneously having to face the challenges posed by an increasingly sophisticated cyber threat landscape that includes different forms of identity-related crimes and privacy breaches as well as attacks targeting smart devices and critical and data sharing infrastructures. Our team works to empower our society and industry for a human-centric digital future, efficiently protecting who and what we are, and ensuring control over the data we own and use, thereby fostering trust among all actors involved in electronic interactions addressing -in all aspects of life involving ICT and online services- fundamental human rights and freedoms including the right to personal data protection. Leveraging Eviden’s experience as leader in cybersecurity, we approach technological development in this field from 3 complementary perspectives:

  • Secure Digital Society: In close alignment with European policy on cybersecurity and data strategy to maximize the development of the Digital Single Market in the Digital Decade, we deliver user-centric, trusted digital identity and access management for persons and devices, and efficient privacy enhancing technologies. These flexible solutions function as key enablers of Trust for citizens to interact safely online, and for businesses, addressing Digital Transformation / Industry 4.0 challenges of our digital economy, from customer remote digital onboarding and digital workplace security to the widespread adoption of emerging self-sovereign paradigm with digital identity wallets and across federated ecosystems like data spaces.
  • Preserving fundamental rights through digitisation: in comprehensive alignment with European policy on cybersecurity and data protection, the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms in a highly digitised society requires trust-enhancing, privacy-preserving and effective security technologies to counter the risks in a complex context of accelerated digitisation, with ubiquitous personal and business digital interactions and cross-sector and cross-border electronic data exchange involving persons and devices across heterogeneous computing continuums. Thus, our technological development to satisfy societal and business needs is rooted in European values and specific digital rights and principles, realised by closely intertwining ethical values of environmental sustainability, transparency and integrity, among others.
  • Business competitive advantage: unleashing tangible business impacts for real-world applications results from having in focus both end-user and customer needs and concerns in the face of existing and new threats which create social alarm and can hamper trust in eServices of global digital markets and ICT systems in general. The assurance of identity, data security and advanced privacy protection, supported on self-sovereign paradigms and the use of resilient and accountable distributed mechanisms with reliable trust anchors, create key competitive advantage for Eviden and for our public and private partners, providing them with support for achieving their strategic goals of digital and data sovereignty.

  • User-centric, self-sovereign, mobile identity and trust management solutions (personal digital identity wallets and back-end solutions to issue and verify different electronic attributes and credentials) aligned with international standards and technical specifications included those in the new European Digital Identity Framework, Data Spaces Business Alliance and Data Spaces Support Centre, among others.
  • Piloting solutions across-borders in large-scale pilots, integrated with decentralised trust frameworks and infrastructures like European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI).
  • Highly secure sensitive data assets protection in eHealth and other strongly-regulated domains
  • Unique capabilities and know-how in smart border control management, electronic ledgers and blockchain technologies for distributed/decentralized applications, Smart Contracts for advanced governance and automation and secure transactions with transparency, immutability and non-repudiation.
